The future of Boston Castle depends largely on the outcome of an impending Heritage Lottery bid by Rotherham MBC.

Although structurally sound the castle suffers from ever increasing vandalism.

If the lottery bid proves successful the Park Rangers will use part of the castle as offices and therefore there will be a permanent presence in the park, which will help with security issues..

The interior of the castle is in a very poor and dangerous state of repair, (click here) but following any restoration work would offer excellent facilities, both educational, social and recreational.
